
Importance of Vaccination for your Child
Vaccinate against preventable childhood illness like DIPTHERIA, TETANUS, PERTUSSIS, (WHOOPING COUGH) HEPATITIS B, MUMPS, MEASLES, RUBELLA is Mandatory. The first vaccination a newborn child receives is BCG against Tuberculosis and oral polio drops against viral poliomyelitis BCG scar develops 4-6 weeks after vaccination on the left upper arm. It’s an intradermal injection hence the scar.
Common misconception is that when child grows up he/she will never get tuberculosis which is not true. BCG can prevent the complications associated with tuberculosis to an extent only. When the immunity is down chances of catching the bacterial infection is very high.
