Dr.S.ALKANANDA has been a paediatrician in practice since 2001. She completed her paediatric residency at KILPAUK MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL IN CHENNAI and received her medical degree from DR.MGR MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF TAMIL NADU.
She is board certified in Paediatrics and is a trainee fellow of royal college of Paediatrics, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Personal note

Dr. Alkananda is the grand daughter of PadmaBhushan Dr. Moturi Satyanarayana Rajya Sabha M. P (in office 1952-1966) founding member of Indian constitution honoured for his contribution in Tamilnadu Public Affairs and Moturi(Mrs)Suryakantha Devi a learned warm-hearted grandmother.

She is the daughter of Dr. Rapalli Balaraman and Dr .(Mrs)Rapalli Kasturi Balaraman renowned gynaecologist and founders RKB Hospital (1991) Tiruvallur a revered and respected person among her patients and family.

Dr Alkananda is married to DrJ. Srinivasan a well known reputed Arthroscopic Surgeon (Chennai). She is the daughter-in-law of Er. Cherukuri Jayaraman and Dr(Mrs)Rajeshwari Jayaraman founders of SPH Hospital (1985) Perambur (Chennai) which serves the local population. Growing up among personalities who value integrity and morality is a blessing she cherishes. Her hobbies include reading, gardening, travel.
