What Is Fever ?

  • Rectal > 100.4
  • Axillary (Underarm) > 99.1
  • Oral (Under Tongue) > 99.5
  • Ear > 100.4
  • Temporal (Forehead) > 100.4

CALL YOUR DOCTOR IF YOUR CHILD IS < 3 MONTHS OF AGE BEFORE GIVING ANY MEDICATIONS


  • DO NOT mix medications with the same components
  • DO NOT give your child ANY ASPIRIN
  • DO NOT alternate medications without first consulting our office

Children’s PARACETAMOL

  • You may give your child PARACETAMOL if your child is uncomfortable or has a fever
  • Paracetamol is sold as a generic or under the brand names crocin, calpol, dolo
  • Use your child’s weight NOT age to select the dose
  • Dosages can be repeated every 4-6 hrs. DO NOT give more than 5 doses in 24 hour period
  • When giving the infant’s or children’s suspension, shake well before using
  • Check the concentration (strength) of the paracetamol product before each use
NOTE: AGE LIMIT. Don’t use under 12 weeks of age.
